Sleeping in a relaxing and comfortable position is vital because it allows your body to get complete relaxation after a long workday. In this article, we offer some of the recommended sleeping postures for healthier and better-quality sleep.

1. Sleeping on The Side

According to a set of collected data, 63% of interviewed participants responded that they prefer to sleep on their side for a more quality sleep. Sleeping on the side is the most favourite sleeping position especially for those who love to snuggle or talk with pillow.

From the health perspective, sleeping on the side reduces indigestion and acid reflux, improves blood circulation and even enables our brains to filter out waste over the night which improve our quality of sleep and our overall health.

2. Sleeping on The Back

Many prefer to sleep on the back as this sleeping posture reduced headache and strain in your neck, spine, and head. However, sleeping on your back also makes you more likely to snore which may affect your quality of sleep.

3. Sleeping on The Stomach

Sleeping on the stomach may be one of the least practiced sleeping position, based on one research, there is merely 17% of the world’s population sleeps on their stomach. On the plus side, it reduces the likelihood of snoring. On the minus side, it may cause back and neck pain in the morning, or make you feel tired all the time the next day after sleeping on your stomach.

4. Fetal Sleeping Position  

Also known as the baby sleeping position, it is one of the most popular sleeping positions many would choose where they would rest on their favourite side with their legs nestled into them, resembling a baby in the womb.

In this sleeping position, you may feel pain in your lower back when you wake up because of the nestled legs. However, research has shown that fetal sleeping position helps to reduce snoring.
